summer fantasy...

being here...

and these lyrics....

It's not far down to paradise
At least it's not for me
And if the wind is right you can sail away
And find tranquility
The canvas can do miracles
Just you wait and see
Believe me

It's not far to never never land
No reason to pretend
And if the wind is right you can find the joy
Of innocence again
The canvas can do miracles
Just you wait and see
Believe me

Sailing
Takes me away
To where I've always heard it could be
Just a dream and the wind to carry me
And soon I will be free

Fantasy
It gets the best of me
When I'm sailing
All caught up in the reverie
Every word is a symphony
Won't you believe me

It's not far back to sanity
At least it's not for me
And when the wind is right you can sail away
And find serenity
The canvas can do miracles
Just you wait and see
Believe me

brooklyn botanical garden

the brooklyn botanical garden is free on tuesdays! it was a little hot, but this tuesday will be my last tuesday off for a long while. here are some snapshots from of our morning...

this event seems like it would be fun... "an evening of cocktails and carousing. meander through the pristine osborne garden, potent potion in hand, with friends and fellow connoisseurs of beauty and botany."

domestic pleasures from my man

i am a very lucky lady! jonah was very busy in the kitchen this weekend...
and the only thing i helped with was the pizza. :)

wedding inspiration folder: fashy

i decided to start posting some of my wedding inspiration tears. i am thinking this will help me narrow in on a look for the wedding next year. there are endless aesthetic directions/possibilities to decide on. i do know for sure its going to be some sort of traditional new england style with a feminine twist/edge. i know that whatever the wedding becomes it will definitely be an evolution of all of these little bits that i am currently admiring.

a morning of peaches & sorting through things...

a new york bake sale, circa 1895

jonah and i just received a huge box of goodies from my mother with old family ephemera, cook books, quilts, old aprons, and other goodies. knowing that jonah is an avid pickler and beginner bread maker she included cook books with old recipes and historical culinary stories. flipping through america eats, forms of edible folk art i came across this picture and fell in love with it... the canopy tent is my favorite part and the little girl's hair bow is awesome. as i walk through the farmers market today i am going to imagine what it would be like if all of the vendors had set ups like this. and i might just need to add this image to my wedding inspiration folder.
