wrangler australia (and the cutest couple!)

i am always inspired by vinatge wrangler pieces. and recently inspired by wrangler australia. and maybe it's because of the cool couple behind the australian brand, andy paltos (creative director) and sarah gilsenan (womenswear designer). "together they’ve amassed the largest archive of wrangler designs in the world, most of them packed into shelves, racks…even a fireplace in sarah’s melbourne apartment.“it sounds corny but we live the brand,” says andy. “we travel twice a year looking for vintage wrangler.” He points to one of his favourite pieces. “that jacket is from a farmer in kansas. he wore it every day for 50 years.” after he died, andy bought it for the collection."-read more hereok, american wrangler... please do this!

last wall standing

while hiking through the woods at jonah's mother's house we always pass this old abandoned house. towards the back of it is a wall that is ready to fall and looks like it used to be a kitchen. there are four tiles that remain on the wall and two of them have amazing ships on them! they are great old tiles. i always think the wall will be gone the next time we are there, so here they are close up...

hello moonshine!

yesterday jonah and i, along with our friends eileen and evan, visited kings county distillery in bushwick. it's new york city's oldest whiskey distillery, and it's only 8 months old! it's a very small operation. they make moonshine (unaged corn whiskey) and new bourbon.
on the weekends they are offering distillery tours on the hour between 1 and 5 p.m., and they are also open for tastings and sales. read about it here.they have just started producing bourbon and you can only buy it at the distillery at this time. i love that our bottle is marked that it's from barrel #1! their moonshine is easy to find at stores in brooklyn.since i have met jonah i somehow know more about scotch, whiskey, and bourbon! :)
